"THE TWO FIDDLERS", by Peter Maxwell Davies

This very first norwegian production of Peter Maxwell Davies' opera was directed by Daniel Bohr for Opera Bergen, and had its premiere at the Håkonshallen, the historical castle which every year houses first rate events during the famous Bergen International Festival. - 38k - 55k




Puccini´s MADAMA BUTTERFLY in Bergen (Norway)



Exciting new production for Opera Bergen, the enthusiastic and productive norwegian opera company which will soon be celebrating 30 years of uninterrupted activities in Bergen, the Festival City and former Cultural Capital of Europe.

The international cast included italian soprano ANTONIA CIFRONE, a great voice and a striking dramatic personality, as Cio Cio San, renowned baryton ANOOSHAH GOLESORKHI as Sharpless, and slovakian tenor JAROSLAV DVORSKI as Pinkerton.

DANIEL BOHR directed the production which is enhanced with costumes by designer DIRK HOFACKER, and conducted by ANNE RANDINE ØVERBY.




"The Night of the Stars", a new danish musical.

Preparations for the world-premiere of a new danish musical have been taking place under the direction of Daniel Bohr for many months. It was STJERNERNES NAT (THE NIGHT OF THE STARS), composed by KIM SØRENSEN and with a libretto by THOMAS HØG and THOMAS MALLING. This production  was to continue the succesful line of danish musical hits which was topped by LYSET OVER SKAGEN, based on the life and work of the famous painter colony in Skagen, in the north of Denmark.

Unluckily, the producing company Nyt Dansk Musikteater had to give up its activities and closed down. Thus, THE NIGHT OF THE STARS has been cancelled.

Daniel Bohr has opened a new production of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, opera by PHILIP GLASS based on the novel by EDGAR ALLAN POE, at Den Fynske Opera in Odense, which was extremely well received by the audience and the critics.

Daniel Bohr was one of the nominees to The  Danish OV-Prize 2008 for this production of Glass' THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER' at  Den Fynske Opera in Odense (Denmark). "It is the 17th. time that The Danish Friends of the Opera will honour an operatic artist for an exceptional performance" (Opera Magazine ASCOLTA - august 2008).
